Polish Delight

Let yourself take delight in traveling around Poland! A slower pace and more time to really enjoy your Polish adventure - that’s the Polish Delight tour!
Visit our Facebook profile to see how much fun we're having on our tours in 2022!
Polish Delight, our 16-day-long trip, lets you understand the Polish history, tradition, lifestyle and culture better. Polish Delight means a more relaxed pace and more free time to fully appreciate the beauty of our country. What you can count on is a small group of up to 18 participants, a committed tour leader, knowledgeable local guides and good hotels (including historic castles!). This, along with an attractive and balanced sightseeing program, makes RealPoland’s Polish Delight the best way to get to know Poland.

Visit the beautiful Polish cities (Warsaw, Kraków, Gdańsk, Toruń, Poznań, Wrocław), see Masuria - the Land of a Thousand Lakes, cruise the Elbląg Canal, relax by the Baltic Sea in Sopot, enjoy the view over the Tatra mountains in Zakopane. The Polish Delight tour combines the advantages of group and solo travel, leaving you a lot of space for your own exploration. We operate groups that are much smaller than other tour operators, which makes our tours even more special and really allows us to give a personal touch to them.

Warsaw, Polonia Palace **** or similar

We are leaving Warsaw and heading north to reach the Land of 1000 lakes...
We have planned a stop in Olsztyn, a town that has been settled in the 14th century, where you are going to visit a castle. The famous Polish astronomer, Nicolaus Copernicus, used to work there and it is where he made his historic discovery: he came up with the heliocentric theory! We are going to reach Giżycko in the afternoon. The following two nights are going to be an amazing experience of sleeping at a hotel inside a real castle!
Giżycko, St. Bruno Castle **** or similar
breakfast, dinner

Our sightseeing begins with Wolf’s Lair, Hitler’s military headquarters...
The complex, which is located in one of the woods of Masuria, used to function like a little city during the war. It had everything: from enormous bunkers, an airport and a powerplant, to a steam bath and a teahouse. This is the place where the famous assasination attempt on Hitler took place. The next point on our agenda is the Święta Lipka Sanctuary, a beautiful baroque temple. We are going to listen to a pipe organ concert.
Giżycko, St. Bruno Castle **** or similar

For a good start of the day we are going to go to Sopot, a famous Polish seaside resort...
We are going to have a walk along the longest wooden pier in Europe and feel the atmosphere of real Polish vacations! The next stop will be the Old Town in Gdańsk. Gdańsk is famous for its hanzeatic-style architecture, seaside atmosphere and first of all its contemporary history. This is where the Solidarity movement was born and where Lech Wałęsa still lives. Once the sightseeing has finished, you can either enjoy your free time or join an optional trip to the European Solidarity Center or the Museum of the Second World War.

Optional activities: European Solidarity Center / Museum of the Second World War (depending on the tour date)
Gdańsk, Hanza Hotel **** or similar
breakfast, dinner

We are going to visit the biggest gothic fortress in Europe – the Castle of the Teutonic Order in Malbork...
You will be impressed by how monumental this medieval fortress is, it is hard to believe that it was built 600 years ago! A local guide is going to lead us through the chambers where the teutonic knights used to live. Free time and lunch are scheduled once the sightseeing is over. Journey back to Gdańsk in the afternoon, free time in the evening.
Gdańsk, Hanza Hotel **** or similar

Poznań is one of the oldest and biggest cities in Poland and it has an absolutely magical Old Town...
In the heart of the colorful market square there is a beautiful rennaissance Town Hall with two mechanical billy goats that appear above the clock every day at noon. Poznań is also famous for its local delicacy, St. Martin’s Croissants. Transfer to Wrocław in the afternoon, dinner at a restaurant in the Old Town and overnight.
Wrocław, Art Hotel **** or similar
breakfast, dinner

We are going to start the day with sightseeing of Wrocław, a city with a quite turbulent history...
Throughout centuries it was located within the Polish, the Czech and the German borders. Our sightseeing begins with the Main Square – the heart of the Old Town, which is a labyrinth of narrow streets and bridges. We shall not miss the oldest part of the city – the Cathedral Island – nor the University, which has its seat in beautiful, historic buildings. After lunch we are going to arrange a trip to Świdnica for those who would like to see the Church of Peace – a historic building that is unique in the world. Arrival back in Wrocław is scheduled for the evening.

Optional activities: Church of Peace in Świdnica
Wrocław, Art Hotel **** or similar

While sightseeing the most important Polish mountain resort, we will have an oppotunity to admire the beauty of the Polish mountains...
We are going to take a funicular ride up the Gubałówka Hill, from where you can get the best view of the Tatra Mountains skyline. We are also going to see the best examples of the local highlander-style architecture. In the afternoon you can have some free time for shopping on the most famous commercial street in Poland – the Krupówki. In the evening you are invited for dinner and a folklore show at a local restaurant.
Zakopane, Aquarion **** or similar
breakfast, dinner

Time to leave Zakopane. On our way to Kraków we are going to visit the Wieliczka Salt Mine, one of the main tourist attractions in Poland...
We will walk through an underground labyrinth of corridors and chambers, we will see the biggest chamber – the Chapel of St. Kinga. No doubt it will be an unforgettable experience. Arrival in Kraków and dinner in a traditional Jewish style restaurant with a klezmer music concert are scheduled for the evening.

My father and I recently returned from our Ultimate Poland tour and we really cannot express how impressed we were with the RealPoland coordination, staff, accommodations, food, local guides and transportation. The itinerary was filled with visits to key historic and cultural sites along with some fun activities like making our own Polish pottery and a pierogi workshop - admittedly, my father and I still need to work on these skills. The accommodations were top class European standard hotels. Breakfast each day was provided in the hotels and dinners were pre-planned at various interesting restaurants in whichever city or town we happened to be staying. Lunch was on us, this may seem daunting but the tours are arranged so that a convenient lunch break happens in a square or Old Town area with an ample choice of cafes and restaurants. As for the Polish cuisine, don’t expect kielbasa and pierogis for every meal - they like to mix it up for you.

Our original intent for taking the tour was to learn more about our Polish heritage. We asked to add an extra day on the end so that we could visit my great grandparents village - the Real Poland staff took care of everything for us, an extended itinerary with hotel, transportation and a local guide.

I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed the beautiful county of Poland. It's clean, safe and very affordable. Additionally, the staff at RealPoland are amazing - especially all of the "Magdas". If you are considering a trip to Poland and are worried about getting around or finding the right tour I would highly recommend RealPoland they are first class.

Natalia' and Magda's quick responsiveness was tremendous! Overall, my total xperience with Real Poland was excellent. They were helpful during setting up my tour plans, and also very helpful when we had to cancel. Natalia researched my grandfather and found lots of information about him that I did not know. I am satisfied with the work she did and I look forward to traveling to Poland in the future. I hope to visit the area where he was from and maybe meet some of my relatives.
