HELLO WARSAW!

The city that rose like a phoenix from the ashes after World War II, Warsaw, is where our journey begins. See the Old Town, which was rebuilt from rubble after the war, the Royal Route that connects royal residences, and the Royal Baths Park – the biggest green area in Warsaw, full of historic buildings that date back to the times of the last Polish king. In the evening, listen to a Chopin concert and have dinner at one of Warsaw’s restaurants. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner Overnight: Warsaw, Polonia Palace ☆☆☆☆

WARSAW SIGHTSEEING

We are leaving Warsaw and heading north to reach the Land of 1000 lakes. We have planned a stop in Olsztyn, a town that has been settled in the 14th century, where you are going to visit a castle. The famous Polish astronomer, Nicolaus Copernicus, used to work there and it is where he made his historic discovery: he came up with the heliocentric theory! We are going to reach Giżycko in the afternoon. The following two nights are going to be an amazing experience of sleeping at a hotel inside a real castle! Our sightseeing begins with Wolf’s Lair, Hitler’s military headquarters. The complex, which is located in one of the woods of Masuria, used to function like a little city during the war. It had everything: from enormous bunkers, an airport and a powerplant, to a steam bath and a teahouse. This is the place where the famous assasination attempt on Hitler took place. The next point on our agenda is the Święta Lipka Sanctuary, a beautiful baroque temple. We are going to listen to a pipe organ concert. Meals: Breakfast Overnight: Giżycko, St. Bruno Castle Hotel ☆☆☆☆

WOLF’S LAIR & ŚWIĘTA LIPKA

On our way to Gdańsk we are going to take part in an unusual cruise along the Elbląg Canal. Thanks to the difference in water levels there are places where you can’t help but get the impression that you are sailing through the grass! The cruise is also a great opportunity to admire the beauty of local nature. Arrival in Gdańsk is scheduled for the afternoon. You can spend your free time in the evening at a restaurant or walking along the lovely streets of the Old Town. Meals: Breakfast Overnight: Gdańsk, Hanza Hotel ☆☆☆☆

We are going to have a walk along the longest wooden pier in Europe and feel the atmosphere of real Polish vacations! The next stop will be the Old Town in Gdańsk. Gdańsk is famous for its hanzeatic-style architecture, seaside atmosphere and first of all its contemporary history. This is where the Solidarity movement was born and where Lech Wałęsa still lives. Once the sightseeing has finished, you can either enjoy your free time or join an optional trip to the European Solidarity Center or the Museum of the Second World War. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner Overnight: Gdańsk, Hanza Hotel ☆☆☆☆

We are going to visit the biggest gothic fortress in Europe – the Castle of the Teutonic Order in Malbork. You will be impressed by how monumental this medieval fortress is, it is hard to believe that it was built 600 years ago! A local guide is going to lead us through the chambers where the teutonic knights used to live. Free time and lunch are scheduled once the sightseeing is over. Journey back to Gdańsk in the afternoon, free time in the evening. Meals: Breakfast Overnight: Gdańsk, Hanza Hotel ☆☆☆☆

MALBORK CASTLE & LEISURE

Toruń is the place of birth of the most famous Polish astronomer, Nicolaus Copernicus. During a short sightseeing tour of the city we are going to see the gothic Old Town along with the medieval City Hall and the planetarium, which is located in a tenement house where Copernicus was born. A visit to Toruń is always related to tasting the famous gingerbread, we shall not forget about that! You can dedicate your free time to viewing the skyline of the city from the other side of the river or walking along the charming streets of the Old Town. In the heart of the colorful market square there is a beautiful rennaissance Town Hall with two mechanical billy goats that appear above the clock every day at noon. Poznań is also famous for its local delicacy, St. Martin’s Croissants. Transfer to Wrocław in the afternoon, dinner at a restaurant in the Old Town and overnight. Our sightseeing begins with the Main Square – the heart of the Old Town, which is a labyrinth of narrow streets and bridges. We shall not miss the oldest part of the city – the Cathedral Island – nor the University, which has its seat in beautiful, historic buildings. After lunch we are going to arrange a trip to Świdnica for those who would like to see the Church of Peace – a historic building that is unique in the world. Arrival back in Wrocław is scheduled for the evening. Meals: Breakfast Overnight: Wrocław, Art Hotel ☆☆☆☆ or similar

We are going east and the atmosphere is about to become full of attentive consideration and deep thought. We are going to visit the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum, a former nazi death camp. It is the place where the most tragic things in the history of the 20th century Europe have happened. The place where over a million people have lost their lives. Transfer to Zakopane after sightseeing, dinner and overnight. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner Overnight: Zakopane, Aquarion ☆☆☆☆ or similar

While sightseeing the most important Polish mountain resort, we will have an oppotunity to admire the beauty of the Polish mountains. We are going to take a funicular ride up the Gubałówka Hill, from where you can get the best view of the Tatra Mountains skyline. We are also going to see the best examples of the local highlander-style architecture. In the afternoon you can have some free time for shopping on the most famous commercial street in Poland – the Krupówki. In the evening you are invited for dinner and a folklore show at a local restaurant. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner Overnight: Zakopane, Aquarion ☆☆☆☆ or similar

We will walk through an underground labyrinth of corridors and chambers, we will see the biggest chamber – the Chapel of St. Kinga. No doubt it will be an unforgettable experience. Arrival in Kraków and dinner in a traditional Jewish style restaurant with a klezmer music concert are scheduled for the evening. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner Overnight: Golden Tulip Kraków City Center ☆☆☆☆ or similar

During the half-day-long sightseeing of Kraków we are going to visit the Wawel Castle, which used to be the seat of the Polish kings for centuries, and the Old Town – the heart of Kraków and its most famous part. Walk into St. Mary’s Church, listen to the famous trumpet call played from the tower of the church and walk along the picturesque streets. Feel the amazing atmosphere of the city! But before you do all that, learn to make the most famous Polish dish, pierogi, during your pierogi workshop. Meals: Breakfast Overnight: Golden Tulip Kraków City Center ☆☆☆☆ or similar

You can either dedicate this day to exploring Kraków on your own or join our trip following the footsteps of Jewish culture, during which we are going to see the Remuh Synagogue, the museum of the Old Synagogue and the Schindler Factory Museum. FREE TIME & FAREWELL DINNER

The last stop on our way is the Sanctuary in Częstochowa, the most important pilgrimage destination in Poland. Even for those who are not religious, it is an opportunity to admire beautiful sacral architecture and to listen to the interesting history of the place. Arrival back to Warsaw is scheduled for 5 p.m. We can book a hotel close to the airport or downtown for you as well as arrange airport transfer the following day. Meals: Breakfast

The last stop on our way is the Sanctuary in Częstochowa, the most important pilgrimage destination in Poland. Even for those who are not religious, it is an opportunity to admire beautiful sacral architecture and to listen to the interesting history of the place. Arrival back to Warsaw is scheduled for 5 p.m. We can book a hotel close to the airport or downtown for you as well as arrange airport transfer the following day.
